Hey guys! So there is this new beauty fad going around called strobing, and for the past couple of months I have been putting it to the test. And I have to say, I do like. Strobing brings more light into the key points of your face, giving you a youthful sculpt to your features that will have people saying #yassss! And its easy to achieve so long as you follow the few guidelines. I just looovee it.
Okay, first things first. What is strobing?
According to POPSUGAR, "Strobing focuses exclusively on highlighter applied where light would naturally hit your face".
So basically strobing is when you put a shimmery highlighter just on the points of your face that stick out. The places are your cheekbone, the bridge of your nose, your brow bone, forehead, cupids bow, and chin.
You can use any type of highlighter you would normally use. you can use a powder highlighter or a liquid highlighter, either works just fine. When applying the highlighter only apply it to those key areas that I mentioned above.
Stobing is the contour for lazy gals. It sculpts your face using light. Its great for a natural look, when you don't want to look over done. While contouring matures your face, strobing gives you a youthful glow. If done correctly, you will seem to be emitting the glow from within. For this reason, I think its great for when you are feeling tired or under the weather. It helps to brighten up your face. Strobing is also great for girls that are always running low on time and just don't have time for the more time consuming contour and highlight routine. Its also great for girls that don't know how, or don't want to achieve that Kim K contour look. Lastly I think its great especially in the summer, because you apply less product to your face. And who wants all that product melting all over their face during the summer time. One can use strobing to achieve a fresh faced no makeup, makeup look. As you can see, I just love this technique all the way around! Its easy, its fast, and its simple!
Some key points to remember when storbing, if there is anywhere on your face that you don't want to bring attention to, do not... I repeat... DO NOT... apply highlighter there. All that will do is bring everyone's attention to it. For example, if there is a huge zit on your forehead, don't strob there! Keep your imperfections in the shadows! Don't forget to subscribe for more! Also leave me a comment, I want to know how you liked this post!

Hello readers!!!
I'm in my last semester of college and Ill be getting my Bachelors degree in Biology this August. Through my experience over the years, I think I have been able to accumulate some helpful tips that I think will be very useful to in coming college freshmen. You can use these tips even if you aren't a freshman to improve your performance. I have a younger brother who will be attending college next year, and a handful of family friends and cousins that will also be heading to college soon and these are the very same tips I would give them. I hope this helps your college years go smoothly and with as little academic probation as possible!
P.S. If you don't want to read, I've attached the youtube videos that I did with the same information down bellow!
1.)Be familiar with your degree plan (ITS YOUR HOLY BIBLE!)
a.Use your degree plan to plan and register for your classes
b.You need it to know the prerequisites of classes and core classes you need to take
c.You don’t want to take random classes that have nothing to do with completing your degree plan, it will delay you from graduating and you will waste money.
d.Know what course requirements you have already taken and still have to complete
2.)Know your advisor
a.Go to your advisor regularly with your degree plan to make sure you are staying on track
b.Talk to them about what are the best classes to take to earn a certain credits (ex: electives)
c.Talk to them about steps to take to graduate on time.
3.)Do your research before registering for classes/ professors
a.Everyone has different learning methods, so choose the professor that best fits your learning method
b.Professor records do not lie! If you are someone who needs an easy A (let’s be real), don’t register for a professor with a difficult personality and that has a class grade average of a C or a high withdrawal rate.
c.Take a look at what reviewers have to say about the professor and how their course is structured
i.Do they teach using powerpoints
ii.Do they give you their notes
iii.Do they give you exam reviews
iv.What is the best way to study for their exams
v.Do they give extra credit
vi.How do they grade/ curve
vii.Do they give homework
viii. What are outside resources can you use to do better in this class
ix.Is the professor approachable
x.Do they answer questions well
xi.Are they helpful
xii.Are they stuck up/ have an attitude
d.Look at what the course is focused on and what it will teach you
i.How can you use the information for future classes
ii.How does it correspond to your future academic/ career plans.
c.Hear in depth explanations about the class and syllabus
d.Get clues on how to excel in the class
*I believe in going to every single class because you can take notes, and note taking as been scientifically proven as active learning to increase memory of the material. Don't be a passive learner, just sitting listening to the professor talk! Take your notes, you will remember more, and it will make it easier to study later= BETTER GRADES!
5.)Learn to prioritize
a.Make an effort to study every day (The best way to do this is to rewrite notes)
b.Make a To do list with higher priority things (Things due, harder things, closer exams) listed first
i.Make one for every day of the week
ii.Write the highest priority thing first
iii.Allocate a certain amount of time you want to spend on each task
6.)Learn your learning style
a.Do you learn better…
i.Self taught
ii.Visual learner
iii.Audio learner
iv.Reader
b.This will help you choose the professors you want to register for based on their teaching style. You don't want to register for a professor that expects you to read the book and learn the material before class, and then just does a speedy overview of the material without writing notes or working examples in lecture if you are a more hands on (visual/audio) learner.
7.)Start “heavy” study a week before your exams (the best way to study is everyday)
a.Formula= 4 days relearn (re-read material, rewrite notes) 3 days review
i.Day 1= relearn chapter 1
ii.Day 2= relearn chapter 2
iii.Day 3= relearn chapter 3
iv.Day 4= relearn chapter 4
v.Day 5 = review all
vi.Day 6= review all
vii.Day 7= Review all
b.If you study everyday, relearn should only take you max 1hr a day
c.Days 5-7 are to drill the info into your brain through repeated practice off all the material. So you redo math problems for all chapters over again, redraw pathways, do practice quizzes, exams etc.
d.This helps you to avoid cramming
e.As a result reduces stress
f.Allows you to do in depth study and really go over things you didn’t understand
g.Gives you enough time to ask questions
8.)Record lectures
a.Download an HD recording app (sit close to the front of the class)
b.Even if you are sleepy, you can just replay recordings so that you don’t miss any important info
c.If you forget something just replay the recording
d.Good source of review If you don’t want to rewrite notes, and allows for multitasking
9.)Ask professor what is the best way to study for the exam (1 week before the exam)
a.Leaves good impressions, it makes professor think you are focused and responsible
b.Makes it easier on you by reducing stress, you know what to focus on.
10.)Make friends
a.Have fun
b.Stress relief
c.May have resources
d.May have better way to do things/advice
·If you are following all of these guidelines and are doing badly, have a talk with your professor during their office hours or talk to your advisors' about what else they think you should do.
·College isn’t easy, especially if you are trying to do well. It takes hard work and commitment. Expect hard times and know that everything isn’t going to go the way you want it to go all the time. Just remember to take it one day at a time.
Hey guys.. lol so I did bad things...Well I wasn't soo bad since the things I bought were so affordable! Here is my first ever affordable clothing Haulbook! Links for similar items are down bellow!
I love pancakes! Who doesn't love pancakes! I remember when I was young I would watch my father make pancakes. He made them differently from my mother, but I liked his way because they just came out so deliciously! instead of using oil to cook them, he used butter. He didn't add an egg, and instead of using water like the package says to do, he used milk. The results were just absolute deliciousness... maybe a little more calorie heavy, but its not like I eat them ever day or weekend. I have these special pancakes once in a few months at most. Though I love my fathers recipe I of coarse had to take my own spin on things. Because I love the way cooking it with butter instead of oil gave the outside of the pancake a slight melty, buttery crisp, I thought it would be a good idea to just add butter to the batter itself. And let me tell you it just melts in your mouth... and onto your midsection, but who's worried!
Things you need...
2 cups pancake or waffle mix
1 1/2 cup milk (what ever kind you like)
1/3 cup butter
1 cup butterscotch chips
* extra butter
How to make this deliciousness...
Step 1- mix the pancake/waffle mix with the milk * You should probably melt your butter
Step 2- mix in your butterscotch chips
Step 3- mix in the melted butter
Step 4- on low medium heat, heat a pan with about a teaspoon of butter * Tip make pancakes on low medium heat, and after each pancake remove the pan from the stove top for about 15 second to avoid the pan getting too hot and cooking the outside of the pancake too quickly
Step 5-When the butter is melted spread it around and add -in what ever method you choice- your
batter. ( I used a soup ladle to scoop it about half way full)
Step 6- When the edges of the pancake start cooking into the center, test to see if the pancake is
flip able. If you are sure you can flip it without making a big mess, flip it over to the other
side * Tip the opposite side doesn't take as long to cook because its already 75% cooked through by the time you flip it over if you've done it correctly, so keep an eye on it!
Don't let the brown spots scare you! Its just caramelized butterscotch chips!
Its not burnt!
Step 7- After about 1 min remove the pancake and repeat steps 5-7 until there is no more batter left. * Tip after each pancake wipe the surface of the pan with a paper towel to avoid discoloring your future pancakes with burnt butter. you can do this while you take your pan off of the stove top.
This recipe makes about 5-8 decent sized deliciousness
I HOPE YOU ENJOY THEM! If you make it tag me in instagram, twitter, or tumblr @Beautifufu I wanna see!
An Introduction
Heeeeyyy yoouuuu C: How are you today? I hope you're doing
great. If you aren’t I hope your day gets better soon! Okay now let me introduce
myself. My Name is Funmi. That's foooo like in "food", and mi as in
"me" Funmi. This is my first ever blog post, and my mind is being
blown because I’m just so excited!
Here is a little
information about me. I am 21 years old, soon to be 22 (I'm old :'C), I am
currently finishing my 4th year at university and should be getting my
bachelor's degree in biology this year. My dream is to go to UC Davis School of
Medicine and specialize in Dermatology. Besides that I have a passion for art,
beauty, decor, design, and style. I'm a geek, but a stylish one, and I'm not
apologizing for it. Which brings me to my next point.......
My Inspiration
Along with my
YouTube channel, I started this blog because I wanted to share with people that
it is okay to be beautiful, stylish and smart all at the same time. Here's my
story...
I have always loved
things having to do with beauty and fashion, but I also am interested in
medicine. While in my journey as an undergraduate majoring in biology, I found
that because I was part of the "smart" kids crew (you know the ones
that are in science labs all day), I felt I should tone down my fashion and
beauty personality. I didn't feel like myself, and I always felt self-conscious
whenever I did look a little "too done up". It felt like I didn't
belong.
I would constantly feel bad that the things I wanted to talk
about weren't always just science, medicine, or school related. I missed the
enjoyment of observing people and their style, the setting I am in after all
isn't exactly the place for conversations about those things to thrive. Because
of this I always felt like the odd one out. Everyone around me would only be talking
about school, science, or medicine, and whenever I would bring up anything
fashion or beauty related I would just get blank stares. For fear of not being
takin seriously, and being over the top I started turning off that part of me.
For a while i felt conflicted and at arms with myself. I started to feel less
motivated and just down, until one day I found I just didn't care anymore. I
had had enough...
It was fall and I
recently gone shopping for some fall esque wear. I had gotten this really nice
wide brim wool cap, and the whole time I was buying it all I could think was,
"where am I even going to wear this to? It's too eye catching...maybe I
shouldn't." I mean when everyone else around you is just wearing jeans
(not nicely fitted by the way), and the free T-shirt they got from whatever
campus event, sneakers that are falling apart, and their hair in all types of
sorts.... walking in with that hat and a mini black and white cheetah print
dress and an aztec fringe cardigan with black knee high sock pair with some
booties... kind of made me feel "unprofessional", and like I wouldn't
be taken seriously. But of course I bought the hat anyway.
The next Monday,
all I could think about was that hat and how much I wanted to wear it I
seriously couldn't take my eyes off of it. I got dressed, fixed my face, and
ate breakfast, all the while trying to convince myself not to wear the hat. As
I was leaving my apartment all i could think about was the hat sitting in my
closet. I locked the door and walked down the stairs. The warm sunlight hit my
skin and the cool fall breeze blew past me. I closed my eyes inhaling deep
through my nose and knew instantly. My eyes shot open and I said, "I don't
care... I'm getting my hat!" I ran back up the stairs and stumbled through
my front door and in a frenzy barged into my bedroom door, into my closet and
slammed the hat snug on my head. A wide smile melted across my face and I
didn't care what anyone thought. I was happy and I looked GOOD!
My Conclusion
Since then I don't take a second thought in expressing what
I feel in how I dress or do my makeup. If I feel like doing a bold red lip,
even though I'm going to be in a biochemistry lab all day, I'm rocking a bold
red lip. Who cares?! I'm brains and beauty! I want to help people who are even
remotely like me stay in tune with both of their sides and not be sorry for it.
